About Us

Representative of the World Tai Chi Chuan Federation in Switzerland since 2008. Bright Crane Tai Chi has extensive experience teaching and promoting traditional Tai Chi Chuan in and around Zurich for the past 10 years. We offer group classes, private lessons and company trainings. Our clients include: Google, PwC, Bombardier and the Küsnacht Practice, a private clinic by the lake. Chief instructor and found or Bright Crane Tai Chi, Master Ming-Lu Yeh, is a certified trainer and judge of Chen style Tai Chi Chuan of the Chen Xiaowang World Taijiquan Association.

 

Bright Crane Tai Chi provides the most professional Tai Chi and Qigong courses and consultations, including group courses at various levels, refresher courses, and teacher training. We also provide customized advice and courses to private, corporate and institutional clients.

Tai Chi was originally a martial art and self-defense technique. It was practiced mainly because it had a positive impact on the body and mind health. Its gentle and smooth exercise sequence promotes health and vitality. Through Tai Chi trainings, practitioners learn relaxation, breathing and beneficial exercises for the entire body. Practitioners come into a deep, contented inner peace, while their muscles work and become supple and tensions are released. Through regular practice, Tai Chi improves posture (learning to stay in balance), strengthens bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments and leads to an increased sense of well-being. Even for those who are healthy and fit, proper Tai Chi with Qigong trainings can be quite challenging. With long-term practice you will feel healthier and fitter than ever before.

The combination of body control, breathing and mental presence manifest themselves in harmoniously flowing movements; Tai Chi is a form of meditation in motion. In addition, Tai Chi sensitizes the perception for the inner energy of the human being, the Qi. These calming exercises promote psychological as well as physiological well-being and help practitioners’ boost their overall mental health.

As people get older, their physical strength and health slowly declines. Age causes the body to gradually develop symptoms such as: headache, back pain, knee pain, neck and shoulder tension, hip or joint pain, muscle pain, rheumatism or fibromyalgia, and sports or other injuries that take a long time to cure ... etc. In severe cases, one’s quality of life is affected. Various researches and studies show that Tai Chi and Qigong exercises are performed correctly and over the long term help prevent, and alleviate these symptoms, including stress or burnout. According to scientific studies, the exercise sequences of Tai Chi also have a positive effect on balance, pain sensation, coordination, concentration, body perception, heart, circulation, immune system and lung function. Tens of millions of people worldwide now regularly practice Tai Chi. Through active practice, even sudden signs of aging in middle age will be noticeably reduced and practitioners will feel full of energy and recharged again.

Our holistic Tai Chi and Qigong courses combine fitness training with stress relief and benefit practitioners’ mental health. With the gentle and effective exercises and forms musculoskeletal and cardiovascular health risks are minimized.

In an initial health and fitness assessment, we analyse your physical constitution, muscle strength and flexibility as well as any tension or stiffness in your muscles. We then design a tailor-made Tai Chi and Qigong training program together, which is based on your specific fitness and health goals. For example:

Tai Chi and Qigong are unfortunately still too often underestimated as simple early morning shadow boxing by older men in the park. But Tai Chi and Qigong are much more than that! If you want to teach Tai Chi or Qigong professionally, you not only have to know the different styles and forms, but also have a broad knowledge of Qi, the meridians, inner work and energy, your own practical experience as well as basic TCM, psychological and pedagogical knowledge. A qualified Tai Chi and Qigong teacher training therefore also requires a lot of time for your own personal developmental path.
