Tai Chi was originally a martial art and self-defense technique. It was practiced mainly because it had a positive impact on the body and mind health. Its gentle and smooth exercise sequence promotes health and vitality. Through Tai Chi trainings, practitioners learn relaxation, breathing and beneficial exercises for the entire body. Practitioners come into a deep, contented inner peace, while their muscles work and become supple and tensions are released. Through regular practice, Tai Chi improves posture (learning to stay in balance), strengthens bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments and leads to an increased sense of well-being. Even for those who are healthy and fit, proper Tai Chi with Qigong trainings can be quite challenging. With long-term practice you will feel healthier and fitter than ever before.
The combination of body control, breathing and mental presence manifest themselves in harmoniously flowing movements; Tai Chi is a form of meditation in motion. In addition, Tai Chi sensitizes the perception for the inner energy of the human being, the Qi. These calming exercises promote psychological as well as physiological well-being and help practitioners’ boost their overall mental health.
As people get older, their physical strength and health slowly declines. Age causes the body to gradually develop symptoms such as: headache, back pain, knee pain, neck and shoulder tension, hip or joint pain, muscle pain, rheumatism or fibromyalgia, and sports or other injuries that take a long time to cure ... etc. In severe cases, one’s quality of life is affected. Various researches and studies show that Tai Chi and Qigong exercises are performed correctly and over the long term help prevent, and alleviate these symptoms, including stress or burnout. According to scientific studies, the exercise sequences of Tai Chi also have a positive effect on balance, pain sensation, coordination, concentration, body perception, heart, circulation, immune system and lung function. Tens of millions of people worldwide now regularly practice Tai Chi. Through active practice, even sudden signs of aging in middle age will be noticeably reduced and practitioners will feel full of energy and recharged again.
Our holistic Tai Chi and Qigong courses combine fitness training with stress relief and benefit practitioners’ mental health. With the gentle and effective exercises and forms musculoskeletal and cardiovascular health risks are minimized.

Individual Certified Teacher's Trainings
Tai Chi and Qigong are unfortunately still too often underestimated as simple early morning shadow boxing by older men in the park. But Tai Chi and Qigong are much more than that! If you want to teach Tai Chi or Qigong professionally, you not only have to know the different styles and forms, but also have a broad knowledge of Qi, the meridians, inner work and energy, your own practical experience as well as basic TCM, psychological and pedagogical knowledge. A qualified Tai Chi and Qigong teacher training therefore also requires a lot of time for your own personal developmental path.
Tai Chi am Zürichsee offers you just that: Individual teacher's training and coaching for beginners and advanced students (from CHF 180 per hour), tailored to your personal experience, goals and expectations.
Our teacher's training and further education is aimed at already experienced practitioners who want to develop and refine their technique or are looking for new inspiration for their teaching, but also at freshly qualified Tai Chi and Qigong teachers who are building up a practice and are looking for their personal style.
We support you in creating and developing your personal style and designing and developing your own practice!

Corporate Training Courses
Increases the work efficiency of your employees by taking care of their physical and mental health!
Tai Chi am Zürichsee creates tailor-made training programs for your employees based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Our programs promote a healthy lifestyle for your employees, whether in the home office or at work.
Tai Chi and Qigong promote health, increase general well-being, help prevent burnout, reduce the feeling of stress, help relax and combat back pain. According to an article in the Harvard Medical Journal, regular practice of Tai Chi and Qigong can also help process information faster, multitask better, and sharpen the eye for detail.
Poor posture is also widespread in the home office, often due to poor ergonomics in the temporary workplace. Long-term poor posture can lead to major problems such as hunchback, neck or back pain, poor circulation, stiffness or a slipped disc. Our courses for better posture help to improve the alignment of the spine and correct poor posture before major damage occurs.
Our courses take place in your office, as webinars or live webcasts at a time that fits your employees' schedules - in the morning, at noon, or in the afternoon (from CHF 250 per hour at your office or from CHF 200 as an online lesson).

“[…] Practitioners praise Tai Chi's spiritual and psychological benefits, but what has attracted the attention of Western scientists lately is what Tai Chi does for the body […] Tai Chi plus walking would be a very good mixture. Younger people probably need more of an aerobic challenge, but they can benefit from Tai Chi's capacity to reduce stress. […] The best thing about Tai Chi is that people enjoy it, so they are more likely to stick with it long enough to get some benefit. It helps when something that's good for you is also fun.” -- Why Tai Chi Is the Perfect Exercise ,
Time Magazine - August 5, 2002 | Vol. 160 No. 6
“[…] Tai Chi is a gentle exercise program that is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). […] Tai Chi is composed of slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and deep breathing, which enhance physical health and emotional well-being. Tai Chi is based on spiritual and philosophical ideas that advocate a need for balance in the body, mind, and spirit. Central to tai chi is the idea that Qi, or life energy, flows throughout the body. […]” -- University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC)
